Cross-Fiber Massage

Cross-Fiber Massage uses friction techniques to create a stretching and broadening effect in large muscle groups. Damage to muscles, tendons, ligaments, or fascia can be caused by over-use or by trauma. Cross-fiber massage can be used to reduce adhesions and to help create strong, flexible repair during the healing process.

This technique is usually done without oil or lotion. The therapist uses thumbs, knuckles, fingertips, elbows or a massage tool to achieve deep pressure.
